Orlando Obeso

Orlando Obeso Gómez is a nationally certified sign language interpreter working as a staff interpreter at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. Orlando is first-generation American and proud son of Mexican immigrants. This rich heritage, as well as the diverse culture of New Mexico, has contributed to his development as a trilingual interpreter. Orlando has professional level fluency in spoken and written Spanish and recently completed his graduate studies at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México, where he earned his master’s degree in Spanish-English Interpretation and Translation. He has extensive experience with mentoring novice and experienced interpreters as well as working with students of the profession. Equipped with a hard work ethic and a strong background in educational interpreting, he is eager to share his passion for trilingual interpreting with other professionals in the field.
